Basic Environmental Policy
The Tokyo Century Group recognizes that addressing environmental issues is a social responsibility. We contribute to the creation of a sustainable, circular society by integrating environmental considerations into every aspect of our business operations.
Our environmental management system encompasses all Group companies, with the President & CEO as the chief executive and the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) as the general manager of environmental affairs. Through this system, we plan, implement, operate, and inspect environmental initiatives in accordance with the PDCA cycle. We also promote continuous improvement by conducting periodic management reviews on the progress of these initiatives.
Basic Environmental Policy
The Tokyo Century Group considers addressing environmental issues to be one of our key management priorities. In light of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we are committed to contributing to the creation of a sustainable, circular, and decarbonized society. To this end, we act with due consideration for environmental issues across all business activities—including preventing pollution, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, mitigating and adapting to climate change, and preserving biodiversity and ecosystems.
1. Status of the Basic Environmental Policy
This Basic Environmental Policy has been established through a resolution of the Board of Directors and applies to all companies within the Tokyo Century Group.
2. Global Environmental Conservation Through Our Business
Through our business activities, we plan and offer environmentally sound products and services globally, mitigating environmental impact and conserving forest, marine, and water resources. Furthermore, we assess the impact of our operations on ecosystems and engage in initiatives that contribute to biodiversity conservation. To achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions (carbon neutrality) across the entire Group, we are committed to enhancing energy efficiency and promoting the use of renewable energy throughout the lifecycle of our business activities.
3. Contribution to Creating a Circular Society
From a lifecycle management perspective, we strive to create a sustainable, circular society by minimizing waste generation, promoting the reuse and recycling of resources, and advancing renewable energy initiatives.
4. Promotion of Resource and Energy Conservation
Recognizing the environmental impact caused by resource use and waste disposal throughout our business activities including the supply chain, we promote resource and energy conservation initiatives.
5. Legal Compliance
We comply with environmental laws, regulations, ordinances, and treaties, as well as international environmental standards and stakeholder agreements to which the Tokyo Century Group adheres.
6. Initiatives for Continuous Improvement
We set environmental objectives and targets, and engage in pollution prevention, environmental conservation, and educational and awareness-raising activities. We periodically review the results of these efforts to continuously improve our environmental management system and raise awareness of environmental issues.
7. Information Disclosure
We strive to disclose information regarding this policy and our environmental initiatives to a diverse range of stakeholders, actively seeking their understanding and collaboration.
